We have been so busy these last couple of months doing a full range of races. Andrew Thompson, Ian Hayden and Dave Turnbull took on the challenges of fell running at Rookhope, Cronkley and Weardale.
We celebrated our annual trip to Bendrigg and ran the 10k undulating road race as torrential rain gave us a beating. But we battled on and we were so close to claiming the team trophy. Results were: 13th David Turnbull 42.46 2nd V55 16th Ian Black 43.04 17th Ian Hayden 44.10 18th Nicola Woodward 44.25 2nd Female 35th Kenny Pyle 50.47 1st V65 52nd Mick Hayden 60.44
No time to catch your breath before we were soon singing and running the Blaydon Races. Congratulations to all those who gave it their best. Further races on the road/hard trail have been the Sunderland 5k, Tynedale 10k, and Newburn 10k. From the ridiculous to the ridiculous, in unusually high temperatures (gorgeous spectator watching weather) Ian Black and Nicola Woodward ran (or shuffled with lots of water stops), the Northumberland Coastal Half Marathon and Ian got a PB time. Definitely worth that cider afterwards and a sit in the sea!
