Two of the club members, Rachael Thraves and Kay Richardson, completed the sanddancer 10k on Sunday 13th April. It was a fair morning but down on the coast at gypsies green the wind was strong. The race started with a jaunt along the prom up to the coastal path. Rachael and Kay both thoroughly enjoyed this first part of the race, one of those 'glad to be alive' moments. This carried on till around 3k where they then changed direction, and were faced with a gruelling 2k battle against the wind. The race was 2 loops and they knew they had this wind to battle again! The last k was an enjoyable run back down to the prom, then the promise that 'its only another 400m!'Lovely morning run on the coast at south shields.
